Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about tracking ratings with Rookie to GOAT.
Our ratings use a skill-based system that adjusts your score after every game based on expectations. Changes are driven by both your opponent’s rating and the margin of victory, not just whether you won or lost. Lower-rated players can improve their rating by keeping games close or outperforming expectations even when they lose. Every point in every game counts.
Yes! Rookie to GOAT is completely free. You can create leagues, invite friends, record games, and track your ratings without paying anything.
You can currently create leagues for Table Tennis, Pickleball, Chess, Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Kickball, Soccer, and Tennis. We add new game types regularly based on community feedback.
Rookie to GOAT uses a dual rating system. Every game you play updates two ratings: your league-specific rating (how you perform within that league) and your global rating for that game type (how you compare to all players). Ratings start at 1000 and adjust based on match outcomes and score margins.
Absolutely — office leagues are one of the most popular use cases. Create a private league, share the invite link with coworkers, and start tracking who's the best at ping pong, foosball, or any other game in your break room.
Each league has a unique invite link. Share it with anyone you want to add. They'll be prompted to sign in (or create an account) and will automatically join your league.
We're constantly working on new features to enhance your experience. Visit our roadmap page to see what's in development and share your feedback on what you'd like to see next!
